This month's guided walking tour will take you through parts of one of our city's most active and vibrate neighborhoods for street art and independent murals, including the work of the newly formed mural organization, V.U.R.T. Creative, and new work on Honeygrow's wall of rotating murals, Front Street Walls, among other delights and suprises like the mural you see on this page by Molly Crabapple!
I'll be your host for this and every 2nd Saturday Street Art Tour. My name's Conrad Benner, and I'm a Philly-born photographer, curator, and the Founder of StreetsDept.com, an award winning photo-blog that's been discovering art on streets of Philadelphia since 2011. I was named Philly's ‘Best Art Curator’ by Philadelphia Magazine, and I have a passion for art in the public space. In fact, you can read my blog's full purpose statment here.
This month's tour is a particularly special one for me becuase not only is it the last tour of the season before I pause tours for the winter to return next spring, but this is also exploring the neighborhood in which I grew up and currently live. So I hope you'll join me!
